Krombacher Brauerei
The Krombacher Bernhard Schadeberg GmbH & Co. KG is a brewery out of town Kreuztal (North Rhine -Westphalia) and is located in the district of Krombach. With a total output of 6.429 million hl it is one of the largest private breweries in Germany. The Krombacher Pils is with 4.4 million hl the most successful brand Pilsner beer in Germany; the alcohol-free beer is the market leader in this segment. Krombacher has with the Schweppes Germany GmbH since 2006, the brand and sales rights for Schweppes, Orangina and Dr Pepper in Germany and Austria.

History
The brewery was founded on 4 February 1803 by John Haas. His father, Johann Eberhard Haas chatted in Krombach an inn. As for a Regulation of 25 July 1618 serving of beer was only allowed if the restaurant also had its own brewery and a malt kiln, John Haas set up a brewery in the family business.

At the beginning of the 20th century was the " Crombacher Pilsener " introduced - which led to a rapid recovery. On 12 May 2006, the Krombacher Brewery announced that it had acquired the rights of " Schweppes " for Germany and Austria, as well as the distribution rights for Orangina. In most other countries the trademark rights to Schweppes at the Dr Pepper Snapple Group lie. In early January 2007 was informed that the company has acquired the private brewery A. In January 2014, the Bundeskartellamt imposed on the Krombacher Brewery and three other breweries for price-fixing for draft and bottled beers in a beer cartel from 2006 to 2008 to pay a fine of 106.5 million euros.

Advertising and Sponsorship
The Krombacher brewery is one of the main sponsors in several sporting areas. Are sponsored in particular the transfers of Formula 1, the UEFA Champions League and the football clubs Eintracht Frankfurt, VfL Wolfsburg, VfB Stuttgart, Arminia Bielefeld, Sportfreunde Siegen and KSV Hessen Kassel. Since the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 in the Bundesliga, the brewery is out of the winning country official partner of the Bundesliga. Until the summer of 2011 it was title sponsor of the football talk show " Double Pass", which airs every Sunday on Sport 1.
Since March 1995, broadcast on the first episodes of the TV crime series Tatort were ushered through a Krombacher commercial. Due to a change in the State Broadcasting Treaty, previously classified as Allowed sponsorship spots are treated from 2013 such as advertising, which is prohibited in public broadcasting after 20:00 clock, and were discontinued.

Krombacher rainforest project
When Krombacher rainforest project was an initiative of the brewery with Günther Jauch as godfather. As a promotional statement was: "For every case of beer, a square meter rainforest is under protection. " This rainforest project is in the national park Dzanga Sangha Reserve in the economy Prefecture Sangha Mbaéré in the south of the Central African Republic working with an area of approximately 4000 km ². More breweries in the city area Kreuztal
The second Kreuztaler brewery that Eichener Brewery, located in the district of oaks, is considerably smaller and also belongs since 2002 to Krombacher brewery. A third brewery is located in the district Kreuztaler Littfeld. It is a micro brewery. The locally brewed Ilsen -Bräu is not available in general trade, but can only be purchased directly from the brewery.
