La Unión Department

La Unión is one of 14 departments in El Salvador and is located in the east of the country on the border with Honduras.

The capital of the department is the city of La Unión. Founded the Department on June 22, 1865.

In La Unión is the Conchagua Temple from 1693, as well as the archaeological sites Intipuca and Meanguera.
