Asbury Lake is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Clay County in the U.S. state of Florida with 8,700 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Asbury Lake is located about 10 km north-west of Green Cove Springs and about 20 km south of Jacksonville. Larger roads there are none.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 8,700 inhabitants distributed to 3,048 households. The population density was 1,000 inh. / Km ². 88.8 % of the population were white, 5.7% African American, 0.5% Native American and 1.3% Asian Americans. 1.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.4% in different ethnic groups. 6.7% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 20.8 % of all households lived in 48.7 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 86.0 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.05 and the average family size is 3.30 people.

33.6 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.6% were 20-39 years old, 28.2% were 40-59 years old and 14.5 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 36 years. 49.3 % of the population were male and 50.7 % female.

The average annual income was $ 69,094, while 3.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.

Economy

A significant industry, there is not. The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: (18.9% ), trade / retail ( 13.3%), finance, insurance and real estate ( 12.4% ), construction ( 15.9 %).
