Lakeside is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Clay County in the U.S. state of Florida with 30 943 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Lakeside is located about 5 km south of Jacksonville and about 20 km north of Green Cove Springs. The CDP is 21 and 224 crosses or touches of the Florida State Roads.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 30 943 inhabitants distributed to 12,292 households. The population density was 787.4 inh. / Km ². 80.9 % of the population were white, 10.0% African American, 0.5% Native American and 3.0 % Asian Americans. 1.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.7% in different ethnic groups. 8.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 24.1 % of all households lived in 36.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 76.6 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.72 persons and the average family size is 3.06 people.

27.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.0 % were 20-39 years old, 30.4% were 40-59 years old and 18.6% were at least 60 years old. The median age was 39 years. 48.6 % of the population were male and 51.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 60,593, while 7.9 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 91.91 % of the population spoke Spanish 5.22% and 2.87 % had a different mother tongue.
