Keystone Heights is a city in Clay County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,350 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Keystone Heights is located approximately 45 km southwest of Green Cove Springs and about 60 km southwest of Jacksonville.

History

Keystone Heights was founded by settlers from Pennsylvania in the early 1920s and named after its country of origin Keystone State.

Religions

In Keystone Heights, there are 25 different churches from 13 different denominations. Among the belonging to a denomination churches the Baptist church is best represented with 9 churches. There is also a no denominational church belonging ( as of 2004).

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,350 inhabitants distributed in 603 households. The population density was 114.4 inh. / Km ². 95.4 % of the population were white, 0.4% African American, 0.7 % Native American and 1.0 % Asian Americans. 0.3 % were members of other ethnic groups and 2.1% in different ethnic groups. 3.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 34.2 % of all households lived in 33.3 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.1 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.52 persons and the average family size is 3.02 people.

28.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.7 % were 20-39 years old, 25.9 % were 40-59 years old and 22.9 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 39 years. 48.0 % of the population were male and 52.0 % female.

The average annual income was $ 49,474, while 14.0 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 98.47 % of the population spoke Spanish and 1.53%.
