Lambada

Lambada is a pair of dance originating from Brazil. It is a combination of dances merengue and Carimbó.

History

The dance was known mainly by the eponymous hit " Lambada " by the band Kaoma, which was published in June 1989 in Paris and then spread throughout Europe. The song was a Portuguese -language plagiarism of a song from the Bolivian group Los Kjarkas Llorando se fue to the title in 1981, but experienced the new dance after the hit song by Kaoma a life of its own. The parallel release music video was filmed on Cocos beach in Trancoso (Bahia), where the dance was first popular. This sparked a short-lived boom in the dance schools, but just as quickly flattened out again, as he had come. This was followed by the movie " Lambada - The Forbidden Dance ", which was filmed in 1990. The female lead role was played by Laura Harring. By the way was made respectable by the dance or the appearances Kaomas the thong in Europe.

Kaoma was replaced in Brazil from " Rei da Lambada " Beto Barbosa who became popular through hits like " Adocinha ", " Preta ", " Paramaribo ", " Diz prá mim " in the 80s. After 1994, when the Lambada boom had already leveled off, the Brazilians danced now majority- Zouk. The dance style changed, so that the dancer her dance style not only called Lambada, but also Lambada / Zouk, Zouk Lambazouk or Brazilian Style. This dance consists of soft, flowing movements with lots of body rolls (including barrels, waves etc. ), head rolls ( bamboleo ) and Cambres for the woman. The dance steps are based on the "slow quick quick" of the music.

Nowadays, different styles have been developed within the Lambada / Zouk, where you still arguing when naming. It stand out here two styles: the one from Rio de Janeiro and from Porto Seguro. The dance style of Rio de Janeiro is characterized by deep Cambres and Tables. In the style of Porto Seguro fast Chicotes done ( the woman's head is thrown back, so it looks at least for the spectators from ) and Bonecas ( the wife of the head moves in a three dimensional eight ). In all these movements should be noted is that the chest is the supporting element of the head. This dance is not stationary but dynamic, which the implementation of various musical styles benefit.

Today Lambada / Zouk is danced in: Brazil, Argentina, USA ( in Utah, however, prohibited), Great Britain, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan and Australia. Meanwhile, the popular tune is like many others, often used in chants in football stadiums. Today, in the Brazilian State of Bahia the lambada rhythm similar Arrocha is often played.

Technology

The technique and the timing reference of the dance to the music are simply in the description, but for a dancer who has not already dealt with the technology of other Latin American dances (body insulation in three "blocks"; hip movements different types) difficult to perform: A lateral hip movement without rotation component ( in the club- level), but with a body lift and sinks on each beat with additional Fußheben to any third weight shift to the rhythm Quick -Quick - Slow; on the slow done a reactive external rotation ( with extension) of the swing leg. So there is an increase ( the extra Fußheben ) of merengue basic technique: The hip movement is preceded by the step does not follow him (as in other Latin American dances ). Clock is the usual 4/4 beat, fast, up to 50 TPM.

The movements of the hips must be completely isolated (upper block ) may not show in the shoulder. However, unlike meringue is the point about which the thigh is swung up, in the area of the center block. The hip movement is so weakened even in middle block ( by the delay as in the form of a S) visible. There is no distinction between step preparation and weight transfer; the steps are left with the only slightly moving through the hip movement center of gravity fall to a certain extent.

The dance is therefore stationary, with mild joint rotation of the pair; The dancing posture is tight, contact is to be maintained over the entire upper body, the legs are reciprocally displaced and entangled. This tight attitude of Mr. summarizes the lady deep ( hip). Figures are often both hands above the head turns out the lady.

A typical figure in the dance pose is off a semi-circular rotation of the upper body of the lady from the hip from the Lord, and against balances of this in deep knee position and zurückgeneigtem upper body; run as deep as possible, that the upper body of the lady gets into the middle of the movement in the horizontal position.

Lambada in the jurisprudence

The dance was not immoral, the court that he was " in many cases already in the afternoon program of public television - to be distinguished from the private sector media - shown " was. The haulage firm in Gronau was condemned to pay the woman's wage compensation for pain and suffering.
