Lan Lixin

Lan Lixin (Chinese兰 丽 新/兰 丽 新, Pinyin Lán Lixin; born 14 February 1979) is a former Chinese middle and long distance runner.

The young runner was managed by the controversial coach Ma Junren when she saw at the Chinese National Games 1997 in Shanghai sensation.

In the final over 1500 meters she ran in fourth with a time of 3:55,01 which has since no longer undercut min, and therefore occupies 8th place of the Eternal World Ranking (as of 2010). A day later, she finished second in the 10,000 m in 30:39,41 min, and two days later she ran the 5000m as second in the preliminary round 14:45,33 min.

The following year she presented on February 28 in Beijing as the fifth runner of the Chinese squadron together with Jiang Bo, Dong Yanmei, Zhao Fengting, Ma Zaijie and Lin Na with 2:11:41 h the current world record in the marathon relay on. At the Track World Junior Championships in Annecy, she won gold over 1,500 m and finished fourth over 3000 meters.

In 2000, she was among the athletes from Mas cadres who were removed after an eye-catching blood test from the Chinese squad for the Olympic Games in Sydney.

The following year, she left more than 1500 m in the flow at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Lisbon. At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, she reached the semi-finals over the same distance.
