Landquart-Davos G 2x2/2

As G 2x2 / 2 is called a tank locomotive of the Mallet type, which were procured by the country quart Davos -Bahn in 1891 in two copies.

History

The locomotives were built by Maffei in Munich. As a selling price 68,400 Swiss francs is given. The G 2x2 / 2 came in 1891 as the No. 6 & 7 in the country Quart -Davos railway in operation and were renumbered in 1896 # 21 & 22.

The locomotive was rebuilt during a boiler change in 1910/11. You got it a leading barrel axis, so the last good G 2 /3 2 / 2 has been adjusted. However, the boiler pressure remained at 12 atm. Both locomotives were sold after their withdrawal in 1920 at the Schürfungsgesellschaft Companhia de Mineração Santa Matilde Brazil.

In the same year 1920 sold Santa Matilde both locomotives to the railway companies talk Sul Mineira de Viação (SM ) in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, where they as types 2-4 4-0 T is the running numbers 241 ( serial number 1613 ) and 242 ( factory number 1614) were given.

From 1937 to 1938, the locomotive was 242 ( serial number 1614) rebuilt in the SM workshops Divinópolis, MG, in a locomotive with a type 2-4 4-0. Your operating number was thereby changed from 242 to 330. In 1938, the SM on the locomotive 241 ( serial number 1613 ) in Divinópolis same conversion work before and they numbered from 241 to 331 in order. Maybe the renovations were not completed: in RMV report from 1940 locomotive is listed as out of service on 331.

From 1938 to 1939, the SM was grouped together with the OM ( Estrada de Ferro Oeste de Minas ) and several smaller railway companies in the state of Minas Gerais to speech Mineira de Viação ( RMV). 1939 all affected locomotives were renumbered. Locomotive 330 ( serial number 1614) was at RMV the new company number 156 1941, RMV But already it out of service.

Again, there is an indication that the conversion work on locomotive 331 ( serial number 1613 ) could not have been completed; it does not appear in the new operating point list of RMV, you even do not know if their new RMV - operation number should be 155 or 157.

From 1944 both locomotives no longer appear in the locomotive list of RMV. Presumably, they suffered the fate of most steam locomotives in Brazil between 1940 and 1950: the scrapping.
