Larry Wilcox

Larry Wilcox ( born August 8, 1947 in San Diego, California) is an American actor who is best known for his starring role in the American police series CHiPs.

Career

During his acting training, he appeared in several commercials. In 1972, he received a role in the famous television series Lassie as Dale Mitchell. He remained faithful to the series until 1974 and from then on played several small guest roles in television series and films. In 1977, he won the role of the main character Jon Baker on the hit television series CHiPs, which he remained faithful until 1982 - despite many differences with Erik Estrada, who there his partner Frank Poncherello mimed. The police series, however, was for him only a temporary solution, since his role in the film was broadcast shortly rich and poor to Nick Nolte. As a good motorcyclists, horse riders and racers but Wilcox was perfectly suited for the role in the police series. So he made a lot of stunts and even, while injured, however, also often. In 1980, he received $ 25,000 per episode.

Life

Larry was born as a twin with his sister Marlene Harmon Wilcox in California. After his parents were divorced, he moved with his father to his grandfather on his ranch Flying Diamond in Rawlins, Wyoming. Shortly after his father died, however. His mother worked as a secretary. After graduating from high school in Rawlins, Larry moved to Los Angeles and took a job there in addition to his acting studies. In 1967, he joined the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve and served 13 months in Vietnam. He worked his way up there to the sergeant. In 1970 he continued his acting training in LA away again, but with little success.

Already on March 29, 1969, he married Judy Wagner and got two children with her: Derek and Heidi. After nearly 10 years, however, was the divorce. In 1980 he married again, on 11 April 1980, he was Hannie Strasser, a Danish woman, whom he had met during filming of CHiPs, the knot. With her he got Wendy. A short time later, however, the divorce took place here as well. His current wife Harlene Harmon Wilcox he married on April 22, 1986, was with her two children, Ryan and Chad. With it, he lives on his ranch in the San Fernando Valley, near Los Angeles.
