Lars Roar Bohinen ( born September 8, 1969 in Vadsø ) is a former Norwegian football player. Between 1993 and 2001 he played for the English clubs Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County. With the Norwegian national team, he participated in the U.S. at the World Cup 1994.

Playing career

First stations in Norway (1986-1990)

Between 1986 and 1990 Lars Bohinen played for Norwegian clubs Bærum SK, Lyn Oslo, Vålerenga Oslo and Viking Stavanger.

BSC Young Boys (1990-1993)

In July 1990, the 20- year-old Norwegian moved to Switzerland, and signed a contract with BSC Young Boys. In the Swiss football championship 1990/91, he reached with his new team a placement in mid-table. Successful acted the team from Bern in the Swiss football championship 1992/93 by winning the runner-up.

Nottingham Forest (1993-1995)

After a temporary return to Norway with Lillestrøm SK, Bohinen changed on 5 November 1993 to the English second division club Nottingham Forest. Shortly afterwards, the club engaged with Alf -Inge Håland another Norwegian national team. His new club was relegated in the previous year from the newly introduced Premier League 1992/93 and reached the Norwegian midfielder ( 23 league games / 1 goal) direct promotion back to the Premier League. The return to the Premier League in 1994/95 led the team to Stan Collymore, Bryan Roy, Stuart Pearce and Lars Bohinen ( 34 league games / 6 hits) in the third place.

Blackburn Rovers (1995-1998)

On 14 October 1995 Bohinen left Nottingham after two years and changed hands for £ 750,000 for the Liga rivals and reigning champions Blackburn Rovers and scored to end of the season in the Premier League 1995/96 in nineteen league games with four goals. He scored two goals in the process on the 18th of November 1995, 7-0 home win over his former club Nottingham Forest. In the UEFA Champions League 1995 /96 English champions failed prematurely in the group stage. Blackburn was between 1996 and 1998 not to build on the successful championship season and Lars Bohinen did not come with twenty-three or sixteen league games as hoped for the course.

Derby County (1998-2001)

Norwegian National Team (1989-1999)

Lars Bohinen debuted on October 25, 1989 in a 2-2 draw in Kuwait for the Norwegian national team. After a successful World Cup qualifying Norway reached with the participation of the Football World Cup 1994 in the U.S. for the first time since the Soccer World Cup 1938 World Cup final tournament again.
