Laurieann Gibson

Laurieann Gibson (born 14 July 1969, Toronto, Ontario, also known as Laurie Ann Gibson ) is a Canadian choreographer, actress and creative director on.

Career

Film and Television

Laurieann Gibson was born in Toronto (Canada) and grew up there. Her career began at the Alvin Ailey Dance Company in New York City, where she learned to dance. About theater dance she came to hip-hop and worked as Head of Choreography for Motown and Bad Boy Records.

In 1989, she was seen as a dancer in the movie Sing, with Lorraine Bracco and Jessica Steen in the lead roles, in which the actor Cuba Gooding Jr. and singer Patti LaBelle should see in a supporting role. In 1992 she got a part in the movie Malcolm X by Spike Lee, starring Denzel Washington in the lead role, again as a dancer. Then we saw Gibson in the U.S. television series, were In Living Color by Fox, the brothers Keenen Ivory and Damon Wayans wrote the script and see as an actor.

Your breakthrough came with the dance film Honey, which is based on Gibson's life. Jessica Alba embodied in the lead role and Gibson Honey the rival Katrina. In addition to her acting work in film, Gibson was also responsible for the choreography in the film. In 2009 she was a jury member next to P. Diddy, Rodney Jerkins and Tamara Conniff in the talent show P. Diddy 's Starmaker, which was shown in the U.S. on MTV. Kimberly Caldwell acted as moderator of the show. In the U.S. version of Dancing on Ice (also known as Stars on Ice ) Skating with the Stars, Gibson worked as a judge alongside Richard Button and Johnny Weir.

E! Entertainment Television is planning a reality show about Laurie Ann's life and work in January 2011, the show is thereby produced by Ryan Seacrest. It is also planned that a Gibson Furthermore, reality show, will be on display in June 2011.

Music

Gibson is also known as a choreographer for music videos. In addition to the musicians and bands that are under contract with Motown and Bad Boy Records ( P. Diddy, Cassie, Danity Kane and Day26 ) under contract, she worked among others with Missy Elliott, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, JoJo, Corbin Bleu, Brandy, Jordin Sparks, Keri Hilson and Jeffree Star, at the Musikvideochoreografien.

In October 2009, Gibson announced via Twitter that the tour of Lady Gaga and Kanye West had to be canceled due to creative differences before a press release, the singer came out.

In September 2010, Naomi Campbell showed a dance routine, which they rehearsed the night before along with Laurie Ann Gibson, at a Dolce & Gabbana Fashion Night. In the same month, the singer Nicki Minaj brought the single Your Love out with will.i.am, to which Gibson was responsible for the music video again.

She created choreographies for the following music video Poker Face, Love Game, Paparazzi, Telephone, Alejandro and Bad Romance for Lady Gaga. This latter, in 2010 an MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography. In May 2011, Gibson directed the Monster Ball concert of Lady Gaga at Madison Square Garden governing. Working as Gaga's choreographer and co- creative director brought them out until November 2011, when Lady Gaga released her due to growing tensions between her and Gibson. In October 2010, Gibson took her first music video for singer Keri Hilson ( Song: The Way You Love Me ), and functioned as a choreographer.
