LDE – Pegasus

The Pegasus was a passenger train locomotive with the Leipzig- Dresden Railway Company ( LDE). She was one of the first locomotives built in Germany.

History

The Pegasus was built in 1839 as the first locomotive of the Saxon engineering Compagnie in Chemnitz, the assembly was carried out by the time his foreman Johann Heinrich Ehrhardt. 1842 when it was purchased after prolonged trial operation of the Leipzig- Dresden Railway Company for 6250 Taler. The useless locomotive COLUMBUS was taken in payment. Structurally based PEGASUS on the English locomotive STORM.

1862/63, the locomotive was retired in the LDE.
