Lecanoromycetidae
Map lichen ( Rhizocarpon geographicum )
The Lecanoromycetidae are a subclass of ascomycetes, which comprises the bulk of the Flechtenbildner.
Features
The fruiting bodies are sunk in the lichen, sitting on it or stalked. They are usually disc-shaped. The excipulum is translucent ( hyaline ) or pigmented. The hymenium is amyloid or non- amyloid. The paraphyses are simple or slightly branched to rich. They are septate, anastomosing or not. The asci are bitunicat but functionally unitunicat. Usually they are achtsporig, the spore count can vary from one to many. The ascospores are hyaline or brown.
Way of life
The species form lichens, where the plant symbiont ( photobiont ) are green algae or cyanobacteria.
System
The systematics of the lichen- forming Ascomycota is very strong in the river. 2007, the subclass of Lecanoromycetidae was first described to be the phylogenetic on DNA sequence comparisons work justice. After Hibbett et al. the subclass comprises three orders:
- Lecanorales, the most species-rich group
- Peltigerales
- Teloschistales
