Lee Baxter

Lee Baxter ( born June 17, 1976 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish football coach and former goalkeeper of British descent. The son of former Finnish national team coach Stuart Baxter is goalkeeping coach at AIK.

Career

Baxter played in his youth primarily in the clubs that have been cared for by his father. In 1990 he moved to the youth department of Blackburn Rovers, before he returned to Sweden to BK Astrio 1992. In 1993 he succeeded his father first to Sanfrecce Hiroshima and 1994 Vissel Kobe.

1997 Baxter returned to Europe and went to the Glasgow Rangers in Scotland. At the end of the year he went back to Sweden and hired at AIK, where his father was coach. There had left the club with Magnus Hedman, Anders Almgren and Claes Green all three goalkeepers. Therefore, it came to a duel with the newly committed Mattias Asper around the place between the posts. Initially, Baxter was able to prevail, but had to after a poor performance in the 0-2 defeat against IFK Norrköping let Gameday on the seventh the 1998 Asper precedence. It was not until the summer of 2000 Asper left the club, he came to another use in the first league. Afterwards, however, he had the newly obligated Daniel Andersson make room.

After the end of the season Baxter went to league rivals Malmö FF. However, behind the MFF veteran Jonnie Fedel him remained only the space on the bench. In the 2002 it came to the reunion with Asper, who was signed by MFF and remained behind the Baxter substitute. In the summer of 2003, he was therefore loaned to England at Sheffield United, where he was also only substitute.

After one year, Baxter returned to Sweden. There, he signed a contract with IFK Gothenburg, but was awarded to BK soil in the Superettan. After good performances in the second division in 2005 he was again obliged Malmö FF, but was not there to use. Therefore, he left the club after just one year and moved to second division Landskrona BoIS. In his first year with the new employer, he missed only one season game until the summer of 2007 he was still twelve times in the league for use.

Since the summer of 2007, he stands as a goalkeeping coach at AIK under contract. Alongside he is coach Rikard Norling respectively its successor Mikael Stahre as a substitute goalkeeper available, but was neither in the 2008 nor the 2009 season champion used.
