Lee Grant (footballer born 1983)
Lee Anderson Grant ( born January 27, 1983 in Hemel Hempstead ) is an English football goalkeeper, who is under contract with the second division Derby County since 2013.
Career
Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday
Lee Grant made her debut at the age of 19 years for the second division Derby County when he came off the bench on 7 September 2002, a 1-2 home defeat against Burnley in the 67th minute for the injured Andy Oakes. The young goalkeeper denied until the end of the season 2002/ 03 29 league games for the table Eighteenth. After another season as first-choice goalkeeper, he lost at the beginning of the 2004/05 season his place in goal for the emerging Lee Camp. He spent the subsequent season on loan at second division side Burnley FC and the third division side Oldham Athletic. After just seven league inserts in the Football League Championship 2006/ 07 Grant received a new contract with the Premier League promoted.
On 2 July 2007, Grant signed a three year contract with the second division club Sheffield Wednesday and denied the following three seasons as a goalkeeper. After two placements in mid-table, he rose in the third year with Sheffield as third from bottom of Football League Championship 2009/10 to the third tier from.
Burnley FC and return to Derby County
After the descent with Sheffield Lee Grant joined on 27 July 2010 on the Burnley FC. In the second division, he was initially only spare behind the long-time number one Brian Jensen, denied to the end of season 2010/11 but at least 25 league games. In the Football League Championship 2011/12 he pushed the Danish goalkeeper final and claimed this position in the 2012/13 season, which he finished with Burnley as the year in mid-table.
7 May 2013 Grant returned free transfer back to his first professional club Derby County.
