Lennie Bush

Leonard Walter " Lennie " Bush ( born June 6, 1927 in London, † June 15, 2004 ) was a British jazz bassist.

Bush fell ill polio as a child and kept them for life back with a limp. He first began playing the violin before switching to bass at age 16; at 17 he had his first professional job in a variety show called The Rolling Stones and Dawn.

Miite the 1940s he played with Nat Gonella; the end of the decade, he turned to the Bebop. Bush was one of the founding members of the London Club Eleven, where he performed in a band with Ronnie Scott, Hank Shaw, Tommy Pollard and Tony Crombie. Later he studied with James Merrett at the Guildhall School of Music and participated in the European tours of Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Roy Eldridge with Zoot Sims and.

1952 to 1957 he worked with Victor Feldman, Jimmy Deuchar in 1954-56 and 1955-57 at Dizzy Reece, also with Wally Fawkes, Stan Tracey and Tubby Hayes. In 1956 to 1973, ending his collaboration with George Chisholm. In 1957 he was a member of Jack Parnell's ATV Orchestra and participated in recordings of Stephane Grappelli, Anita O'Day and Eddie Vinson (1980 ) during their visits to Ronnie Scott's with. In the 1990s he moved gradually from the music scene back, but came occasionally until his death in 2004.
