Leo Ferdinand Dworschak

Leo Ferdinand Dworschak ( born April 6, 1900 in Independence, Wisconsin, USA, † November 5, 1976 in Fargo, North Dakota) was Bishop of Fargo.

Life

Leo Ferdinand Dworschak received on 29 May 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Fargo.

On June 22, 1946, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Titular Bishop of consortium and appointed him as Coadjutor Bishop of Rapid City. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Giovanni Cicognani Amleto, donated to him on 22 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Bismarck, Vincent James Ryan, and the bishop of Covington, William Theodore Mulloy. On April 10, 1947 he was appointed by Pope Pius XII. auxiliary bishop in Fargo. Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 23 February 1960 Bishop of Fargo. The inauguration took place on 10 May of the same year.

On September 8, 1970 Dworschak resigned as Bishop of Fargo and Pope Paul VI. appointed him Titular Bishop of Meta. Leo Ferdinand Dworschak waived on January 13, 1971, the titular meta.

Leo Ferdinand Dworschak attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council.
