The Leuven station ( Dutch Leuven station ) is a station of the NMBS / SNCB in Leuven. It lies on the railway line 36 between Brussels and Liege. With 27,000 passengers per day of Leuven train station is in fifth place of the busiest railway stations in Belgium. The station has 13 tracks. It would have a connection to the S -Bahn GEN Brussels.

History

Lion was connected to the railway network in 1837 as one of the first Belgian cities. On September 10, 1837 compound was prepared according to Mechelen and on September 22, 1837 link to Tienen. The new transport brought the hitherto flourishing passenger boat trip on the canal between lions and Mechelen to a standstill and caused the emergence of a new district near the train station.

Renovation
