Lewisham station

Lewisham is a railway station in the London Borough London Borough of Lewisham. It is a major transportation hub and is located at the boundary of Travelcard Zone 2 and Zone 3 on the Station Road. In 2007, 5.841 million passengers used the station.

The station is served by trains of the company Southeastern, moreover, it is the southern terminus of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). It has the shape of a wedge station, and therefore the track system Y-shaped is arranged. All transiting here trains from the stations Charing Cross or London Bridge to the northwest. To the east, the route runs towards Dartford and Medway, to the south branch suburban routes to and Hayes Orpington from. The terminus of the Docklands Light Railway is located in a semi-covered incision in the courtyard between the two branches of the railway track. A bus station provides the detailed indexing.

The station was opened on July 30, 1849 by the then South Eastern Railway, together with the distance between Bermondsey and Gravesend. With the commissioning of the line to Beckenham on 1 January 1857, Lewisham transformed from a passage into a wedge Station. The opening of the DLR station on November 20, 1999.
