Leyti Seck

Leyti Alexander Seck ( born February 21, 1981 in Munich, Germany ) is a former alpine skier from Senegal, who lives in Austria. He participated in three World Cups and two Olympic Games and contested several races in the World Cup. He is also a former football player and football coach.

Biography

Leyti Seck was born in Munich, the son of a German mother and a Senegalese father. He already came as a baby to a foster family after Strobl am Wolfgangsee in Austria and grew up just there. Seck is Austro- Senegalese dual nationality and was at the age of seven years for the first time on skis. Seck took first time in 2002 to participate in FIS races after he had been taken by the president and founder of the Senegalese Ski Federation, Lamine Guèye, into the dressing. In 2003 he competed at the World Championships in St. Moritz, where he was 55th in the giant slalom and the slalom 61. In the next few years Seck took part in these two disciplines at several World Cup races in Austria. He made his debut on 23 October 2003 in the giant slalom in Soelden, the ninth and last time he was on 28 January 2007 in the slalom in Kitzbuehel in the World Cup at the start.
