Licensed to Ill is the debut album of hip- hop group the Beastie Boys. The album was produced by Rick Rubin.

The combination of hip hop beats and catchy guitar riffs became instantly platinum status. The album is considered as the most successful hip- hop album of the 80's and is still one of the milestones of the genre. It is the first pure hip-hop album, which reached # 1 in the U.S. Billboard charts. This position could hold five weeks the album. In the U.S. alone more than 8 million units have been sold to date. The Rolling Stone led Licensed to Ill in 2003 at No. 215 to its list of the 500 best albums of all time. 2013 was voted by Rolling Stone as the "best debut album of all time ". Licensed to Ill is also listed in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You.

From album five pieces were released as a single, including the song ( You Gotta ) Fight for Your Right ( To Party! ), Which represents one of the biggest hits of the band.
