Incorporations
The Samtgemeinde Liebenau was created on 1 July 1967 from the communities inland, Bühren, Glissen, Hesterberg, Liebenau and Pennigsehl. Within the framework of the law on the restructuring of municipalities in the Nienburg / Weser communities inland, Bühren and Glissen were merged into a single municipality, the municipalities Pennigsehl and Hesterberg to a community Pennigsehl in 1974.
