History

The Samtgemeinde arose to November 1, 2011 from the merger of Samtgemeinde country mountains and the Samtgemeinde free community Stolzenau.

Samtgemeinderat

The Samtgemeinde Council Election on 11 September 2011 led to the following distribution of seats:

  • CDU: 13 seats
  • SPD: 13 seats
  • WG Mittelweser: 3 seats
  • GREEN: 2 seats
  • LEFT: 1 seat

Coat of arms

Blazon: With a down green -lined elevated silver wave beams of green and gold divided; top left, a golden floor anchor, right a golden windmill and growing below a red stepped gables, ( rafter as occupied by 5 silver discs ) with six pointed roofed walled- up stands ( and three silver lancet windows ).
