Life of Agony

Life of Agony is an American Rock-/Metal-Band from New York.

History

Influenced by bands such as Metallica, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath, Life of Agony was founded in 1989 by Keith Caputo, Joey Z., and Alan Robert. Later drummer Sal Abruscato came from the band Type O Negative added.

Their debut album River Runs Red was released on Roadrunner Records in 1993, was the producer of Type O Negative keyboardist Josh Silver. The concept album contains ten songs that focus on death and suicide, the last week of a young man that is told in "Monday ", "Thursday " and " Friday" life. Overwhelmed and powerless if his problems he dies by suicide.

The successor of River Runs Red was released in 1995 and is named Ugly. After the subsequent tour drummer Sal Abruscato left the group, he was replaced by former Pro-Pain - musician Dan Richardson.

1997 the third album Soul Searching Sun, which precipitated emphasizes softer than its predecessor. Even before the subsequent tour left the singer Keith Caputo, and with him his distinctive voice - a trademark of Life of Agony - the band and was replaced by Whitfield Crane, former frontman of the group Ugly Kid Joe.

Keith Caputo trod then solo career and in 1999 she took his first solo album Died Laughing, on which he consistently quieter tones strikes that were already present in the last regular LoA album. Life of Agony separated in 1999 without having received a new plate with Crane.

A Reunion in the original group took place in 2003, when the band on two consecutive days gave concerts in New York. In 2005 followed the current work of Broken Valley, again recorded with Keith Caputo as a singer and Sal Abruscato on drums.

2006 Keith Caputo released under the artist name " Caputo " again a solo album Hearts Blood on Your Dawn, which he recorded with three young Dutch in Brussels. This work is, however, only sold online and at concerts.

In July 2010, the band on the label I Scream Records released another live album titled 20 Years Strong - River Runs Red: Live in Brussels. The live album includes an audio CD with just under 75 minutes of playing time as well as a DVD.

In February 2012, announced Sal Albrascuto that Life of Agony have redissolved. "We will no longer occur, and we have given up our studio. We just feel that we have reached the end. We can no longer bring himself to write a song. " However, the band already announced their reunion in 2014.
