Liga ASOBAL 2008–09
The League ASOBAL is the top division of the Spanish handball. The 2008/2009 season the league ASOBAL was the 49th in its history.
Ciudad Real was the defending champion, who won their third title in the previous season. The season began on Saturday, September 13, 2008 and ended Saturday, May 16, 2009., The leader after the 30th Round was automatically Spanish champion in 2009. A total of 16 teams competed for the championship, of which only 14 teams in the season had contested the 2007/ 08, and had ascended two of which are from the División de Honor B.
