Linda Mertens

Linda Mertens ( born July 20, 1978 in Wilrijk, Belgium) is a Belgian singer. She is known primarily as a singer of the Belgian dance formation Milk Inc..

Life

Linda Mertens was born as the daughter of a Tunisian father and a Belgian. When she was three years old, her parents divorced - her father she then never gotten to know. Her older brother Johan was killed in a car accident. After studying art and a two-year apprenticeship as a hairdresser, she began studying psychology, which, however, broke off.

The first steps as a singer took Mertens in a music group called "Secret Fantasy". However, the breakthrough came only with the dance formation Milk Inc.. Middle of 2000 Mertens visited the club "Illusion " ( a well-known nightclub in Lier ) and asked the former resident DJ Regi Penxten whether or not he a singer for one of his projects would need. Mertens did not know that Regi was looking for a new singer for Milk Inc.. After several tests, she was selected as the new singer. Since the September 15, 2000 Mertens is the singer and front woman of Milk Inc. - the first song with her was Land Of The Living.

As a singer Mertens works not only with Milk Inc.. Appeared in 2001 in collaboration with Esther Sels, Kate Ryan, Maaike Moens ( The Quest ) and Pascale Feront ( Absolom ) the Eternal- Cover Oh Baby I. On the album "Crossroads" Sylver from the year 2006, she sings along with Silvy de Bie the song Keep Your Hands. Together with Jessy de Smet, she released the end of 2007 the song Getting Out.

On the Supersized -2- concerts by Milk Inc. end of September 2007 showed Linda Mertens, that they not only sing, but also can play drums. In 2008 she participated in the songwriting for the first time: The text of the ballad Perfect Lie on the album " Forever" by Milk Inc. comes for the most part of it.

Not least because of its degree of recognition as a singer of Milk Inc. She posed several times for the Belgian men's magazine P- Magazine.

In April 2004 Mertens was involved in a serious traffic accident: You met head-on with another car together; the driver of the other car died shortly afterwards from his injuries. In the subsequent court proceedings her the responsibility for the accident was attributed. They also had to pay € 30,000 in damages.
