List of administrative divisions of Chongqing

The list of administrative units of Chongqing gives an overview of the population of the city districts, counties and autonomous counties of the Chinese city of Chongqing. Listed are also the area, population density and the location of the administrative unit in the city of Chongqing.

The direct-controlled municipality of Chongqing in the People's Republic of China is divided into 19 districts, 15 counties, and four autonomous counties. The administrative area of Chongqing represents no coherent urban area, but would be similar to its outside the urban core ( high density, closed local form) dominant rural settlement structure rather with a small province.

Boroughs

Downtown

The city of Chongqing is divided into six districts. These are:

City Yuzhong District (渝中区Yuzhong Qū )
Municipality Dadukou (大渡口区Dadukou Qū )
Nan'an City district (南岸区Nan'an Qū )
Municipality Jiulongpo (九龙坡区Jiulongpo Qū )
City Shapingba District (沙坪坝区Shapingba Qū )
City Jiangbei District (江北区Jiangbei Qū ).

The region Fulung consists of two districts and three counties. These are:

Fengdu county (丰都县Fengdu Xiàn )
Wulong county (武隆县Wulong Xiàn ).

Wanzhou

To the region Wanzhou include a municipality and eight circles. These are:

The Qianjiang region is divided into one municipality and four autonomous counties. These are:

Table of administrative units

The population figures in the following table are an estimate of Chongqing Statistics for December 31, 2004. Credited residents are having their main residence in Chongqing. Since the former municipality Shuangqiaoshan with the former district 22 October 2011 were merged given the new city district purpose, the former district of Wansheng with the former district QIJIANG the new city district QIJIANG, the area and population figures are added for the new districts.
