List of banks in Namibia

This is a list of banks in Namibia.

These are approved and supervised by the Bank of Namibia ( BoN ); in the case of financial institutions that do not match bank of the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority ( NAMFISA ).

Central bank

  • Bank of Namibia

Commercial banks

  • Bank Windhoek
  • EBANK Namibia, provisional banking license was granted on August 1, 2013
  • First National Bank of Namibia
  • Nedbank Namibia
  • Standard Bank Namibia
  • Absa Bank Namibia, started the business as a wholesale bank on 10 November 2009

A temporary banking license had been following foreign banks obtained, but these have not commenced operations:

  • Bank PHB Namibia (part of the Nigerian Bank PHB Nigeria), issued on 21 August 2009, withdrawn prematurely October 13, 2009

Micro - banks

  • FIDES Bank Namibia
  • SME Bank Namibia; received on 2 December 2010 a temporary banking license and commenced operations in March 2013

Special Public Banks

  • Agricultural Bank of Namibia
  • NamPost Savings Bank and Treasury
  • Development Bank of Namibia
