List of cities, towns and villages in East Timor

This is a list of cities in East Timor.

Survey

By far the largest agglomeration in East Timor is Dili. In the district of living (as of 2010 ) 234 331 inhabitants. Thus 22% of the country's people live in the capital region. The capital Dili has a population of 193 563. This corresponds to 18 % of the population of the country.

Previously places with more than 1,000 inhabitants were designated as cities such as Dar es in the district of Dili or Bobonaro in the same district. Meanwhile, 38 Sucos be defined as urban, almost all grouped around the main towns of the districts. The only exception is in the north of the district Maubisse Ainaro.

Cities

The following table lists the cities over 1,000 population ( calculation) and their districts are listed for 2002 and 2006 (each January 1st). The population figures refer to the actual city without suburban belt.

For 2010, the population of the cities as specified in the report on the 2010 census locations are listed, which are formed from the 38 urban Sucos.
