Saarland 1945-1956

The Saarland was after the Second World War to the January 1, 1957 an autonomous territory under French protectorate. Accordingly, after 1945 independent parties emerged. In the run up to the referendum on the European Saar Statute 1955 and the parties were admitted who sought a reunification with the Federal Republic of Germany.

  • Christian People's Party of the Saar (CVP ) founded in 1945, merged in 1956 with the Centre Party to the Christian People's Party ( CVP ), 1957 independent again and association with the CSU -Saar to the CSU / CVP, 1959 dawned in the CDU with elimination of the Saarland People's Party (SVP )
  • Social Democratic Party of the Saar (SPS ), founded in 1945, disbanded in 1956 in favor of the SPD
  • Democratic Party Saar ( DPS ), founded in 1946, prohibited 1951-55, 1957 the Saarland as FDP / DPS National Association of FDP
  • Communist Party of the Saar, actually Communist Party, the country Saar (KP, also KPS), founded in 1945, banned in 1957 as a replacement organization of the Communist Party of Germany
  • German People's Party ( DV), founded in 1952, merged in 1955 in the DPS
  • CDU Saar founded in 1952, approved in 1955, from 1957 National Association of CDU
  • SPD Saar, approved in 1955, 1952 without approval founded as a German Social Democratic Party ( DSP), from 1957 National Association of SPD
