The Kingdom of Pontus was administered in the 5th and 4th centuries BC, a satrapy of the Persian empire, and was supported by a dynasty of Kios. After independence from the Persians in the context of Alexander's campaign Pontos was ruled by the descendants of the rulers of the Cius Dynasty.
