List of the rulers of Lüneburg

The list of the ruler of the Principality of Lüneburg contains all the regent of the Principality of Lüneburg from 1269 until the onset of the Principality on the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg in 1705.

Owner of the Imperial fief were the Welf dukes of Brunswick- Lüneburg and the Lüneburg War of Succession, during 1370-1388 the askanischen Dukes of Wittenberg. Following an agreement in the deed of division of the year 1269 all wore the Guelph dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg total house even after the division of the title of Duke of Brunswick- Lüneburg.

The coat of arms of Lüneburg princes were changed several times over the centuries and expanded. The root of Arms of the Principality of Lüneburg is a blue lion rampant in a golden shield dar. In the 14th century there was an association with the arms of the Brunswick line of the Welf dynasty, which shows two golden leopards on a red background.
