Live and Become (Va, vis et deviens ) is a 2005 Franco- Israeli film published by Radu Mihaileanu who plays against the backdrop of the immigration of Ethiopian Jews to Israel.
Action
Live and begin in 1984 in a refugee camp in Sudan. Thousands of Ethiopian Jews, Christians and Muslims have fled there from the famine in Ethiopia 1984-1985 and suffer now in the " hunger camps" of starvation and disease. The Jews brought to Israel in Operation Moses by plane. A Christian mother then sends her son away in order to save his life, with the words: " Go and live. " The boy is from now on as a Jew from Salomon calls ( Shlomo ), is brought to Israel and adopted by a Jewish family. He must find his way in an alien culture and also deal with the distrust that many white Israelis the black Ethiopian Jews have placed - and not least Schlomo must guard his secret, for coming out that he is not a Jew, he is of the government sent back to Ethiopia. All the while suffering Shlomo also very from the separation from his mother. He is a doctor, marries and returns to the refugee camps, to help and to look for his mother.
