International Jury
The jury was led in 2005 by German director Roland Emmerich as president. The other jury members were: Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė (actress from Lithuania), Bai Ling (Actress from the PRC ), Franka Potente (Actress from Germany ), Wouter Barendrecht (producer and chairman of the international sales Fortissimo Films from Netherlands ) Nino Cerruti ( fashion designer and founder the fashion label Cerruti 1881 of Italy), Andrei Kurkov ( screenwriter, cinematographer and writer from Ukraine ).

Panorama
The Panorama section was old in this 20 years. To this end, a photo exhibition was set up, let these 20 years to reminisce. The stars of the Panorama section this year were Kevin Spacey, of his film Beyond the Sea - was music was his life. Rebecca Miller participated with her film The Ballad of Jack and Rose at the panorama. Her husband Daniel Day- Lewis played the lead role. The biggest star of the panorama was George Michael, who presented the documentary A Different Story.

Kinderfilmfest/14plus
The juries of children and 14plus awarded prizes to the following films: the " Crystal Bear for the Best Feature Film" went Dutch film Bluebird of Mijke de Jong. The " Crystal Bear for the Best Short Film " award went to The Djarn Djarns by Wayne Blair. The " Crystal Bear for the Best Youth Film " ( 14plus ) went to the film Voces Inocentes by Luis Mandoki.

Retrospective
The Retrospective this year's Berlin International Film Festival was dedicated to the scene formers. The film series was entitled Locations - locations - latitude. Production Design & Film. It was divided into five areas and a total of 45 films were shown.
