Lizabeth Scott

Lizabeth Scott (aka Emma Matzo; born September 29, 1922 in Scranton, Pennsylvania ) is an American actress.

Life

Lizabeth Scott is the daughter of Slovak immigrants. In the early 1940s they came to New York City and received acting lessons. In 1942 she was given the opportunity as a replacement lead actress Tallulah Bankhead in the event of their failure to play for the world premiere of Thornton Wilder's play The Skin of Our Teeth, directed by Elia Kazan. However, this never occurred. Finally, when Miriam Hopkins replaced as the star Tallulah Bankhead for this production, she left the theater and took acting lessons again. She also worked as a model.

When, finally, then turned out the new replacement for Hopkins because of illness, Lizabeth Scott got her chance and was called back into production. So she got the first opportunity to show on a stage in a Leading Role, and the 20 -year-old received the same critical acclaim and was discovered by Hollywood producer Hal B. Wallis. She then played the same piece in Boston and came to Hollywood in 1945. Her film debut was in You Came Along, directed by John Farrow and on the side of Robert Cummings. Your studio Paramount wanted to build up as a rival to Lauren Bacall and she got some roles in films, the film - noir series.

Lizabeth Scott was never married and has no children. In the 1950s, she brought the suspect in the homosexuality. She went in 1955 a legal case against the spread of these rumors. The trial, however, was laid down without judgment. Scott retired in 1957 back from the film business. Although they still played occasionally as a guest on television, but returned only once in 1972 back to the canvas.
