The municipality includes the village Lochgau Lochgau, the hamlet Weißenhof and the homestead Peter courtyards.

History

The first mention Löchgaus finds himself in a fake deed of gift. It is certified that the Bishop of Speyer in 1147 gave away the Church of Peter Lochgau to the monastery Maulbronn after he shall have previously purchased by a local nobleman named in Lochgau Beringer. In 1244 the monastery Maulbronn handed over the church in Lochgau to the cathedral chapter of Speyer.

1484 came the Palatine area of ​​Lochgau in Württemberg possession when it was replaced by the Württemberg share of Ingersheim. Duke Ulrich of Württemberg in 1506 acquired a further quarter of the village of Konrad Schenk von Stetten winter in exchange for Freudenthal. 1529 bought Margrave Philip I of Baden his possessions in and around Besigheim back and received this half of the village Lochgau. Until 1595 Lochgau was thus half- Baden, half of Württemberg.

1595 bought Duke Friedrich I of Württemberg, the second half of Lochgau together with the Baden offices Mundelsheim and Besigheim of Margrave Ernst Friedrich of Baden -Durlach, so Lochgau, which thus belonged to the upper office Besigheim, now fully came into possession of Württemberg.

1739 he created the two kilometers south of Lochgau hamlet of Weißenhof, built as two brothers from Lochgau, Jacob, and Hans -Jörg White, on the ruins of a former Roman estate their farm. On November 3, 1799, French troops threatened with Lochgau the city of Ludwigsburg, but were beaten back by Austrian troops.

Coat of arms and flag

The coat of arms shows in blue the gold capital letter L, top left a six-pointed golden star. The municipality flag in the colors yellow and blue was awarded on 12 March 1980.

Museums

The basis of the technology history museum opened 1998 " Nail Museum " goes to the 4,500 types of nails back comprehensive collection of patterns the company Röcker. The company produced nearly one hundred years, from 1876 to 1974, in Lochgau. Structures

  • The St. Peter's Church was first mentioned in 1147. The oldest parts of the church date back to the 13th/14th century. Century, the tower was 1756/76 its present shape. The modern organ was built by Richard Rensch 1959.
  • In the church is the Protestant parsonage, whose vaulted cellar is dated 1746 and behind which the tithe is from 1576 to 1604 nor the parish Scheuer was grown.

  • The estate of Colonel Mösel was built in 1600. The bay window of the building was added in 1871, the barn dates from 1886.
