Logone Occidental Region
Logone Occidental ( Logone West) is a region of Chad, corresponding to the former prefecture of the same name. Its capital is Moundou. The region has about 646,000 inhabitants.
Geography
Logone Occidental is located in the south of the country, covers an area of 8695 km ² and consists mainly in humid savanna. Named the region is named after the river Logone.

The main ethnic group in Logone Occidental are the Ngambay ( Sara ), which account for over 90 % of the population.
Economy
The population in Logone Occidental depends mainly on subsistence agriculture and cotton.
