Administrative divisions of Chad
The Republic of Chad has been independent in 1960 and was divided into 14 prefectures since then, since 1999 in 28 departments and since 2002 in 18 regions. Since February 19, 2008 Chad is divided into 22 regions. Before independence of Chad divided during the French colonial period 1935-1947 in ten departments and to 1960 in nine regions.
