Lorenzo Aragón

Lorenzo Aragón Armenteros ( born April 28, 1974 in Santa Isabel de las Lajas, Cienfuegos province ) is a former Cuban boxer. Aragón was world champion in 2001 and 2003 and silver medalist of the Olympic Games 2004.

Career

In the youth level ( U19) Aragon 1992 world champion in the flyweight (-51 kg).

Aragón bronze medalist of the national championships in 1991, Cuban champion in 1992, 1994-1999, and 2001-2004.

In 1994, Aragon participated in the Pan American Championships and was able to Featherweight ( -57 kg ) with a final victory over Yoni Vargas Martinez ( Mexico) win ( 9:7 ). In the same year, he also reached the final of the Cup chemistry in Halle, but lost against Falk huste ( Germany, 11:7 ).
