Loreto Municipality, Beni

The municipality of Loreto is a district in the department of Beni in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality of Loreto is one of two Municipalities of the province Marbán and located in the western part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the province Moxos, on the south by the department of Cochabamba, on the east by the municipality of San Andrés, and to the north by the province of Cercado.

The largest town and administrative center of the province is Loreto with 843 inhabitants ( 2001) in the northern part of the municipality.

Geography

Loreto is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the river plain of the Río Mamoré and has a year-round tropical hot and humid climate.
