Louis C. K.

Louis CK, Louis Szekely bourgeois ( born September 12, 1967 in Washington, DC) is an American stand- up comedian, television and film writer, actor, producer and television director. He's from Boston. Currently, he plays in the FX series Louie, which he also wrote and for which he is directing.

Life

C. Ks stage name is derived from the English pronunciation of his Hungarian surname Szekely. He was in Washington, D.C. born and is the son of Mary Louise (née Davis), a software developer, and Luis Szekely, an economist. His mother is a U.S. citizen of Irish descent, his father is Mexican, whose father had immigrated to Mexico Hungarian Jew. C. Ks parents met at Harvard know. Although born in DC, C. K. lived until the age of seven in Mexico City. His native language is Spanish, and he remained a Mexican citizen.

After moving from Mexico to Boston wanted C. K. writer and comedian be. It was partially inspired by Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor and George Carlin. When he was ten years old, his parents divorced. CK and his three siblings grew up with their mother then in Newton (Massachusetts ).

After finishing school at the Newton North High School C. K. worked as a car mechanic in Boston. His first start as a standup comedian in 1984 at an open mic event where he was given five minutes, but he had material for only two minutes. This experience kept him away for the next two years by the comedy. Gradually managed C. K., to get paying gigs. He has appeared in various comedy on and opening for Jerry Seinfeld clubs until he moved to Manhattan in 1989.

Career

Author

C. K. was, among others, writer for The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Dana Carvey Show and The Chris Rock Show. His work for The Chris Rock Show was nominated three times for an Emmy Award and won the 1999 in the category " Best Writing in a Variety or Comedy Series". For his work on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, he was also nominated for an Emmy Award. His feature film Pootie Tang, based on a sketch in The Chris Rock Show by Chris Rock. This film received very negative reviews, but became a cult film. In 1998 he wrote the independent black-and-white film Tomorrow Night and also directed. This film had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. He also wrote several short films, including six in 1995 for the sketch show Sunny Skies In 2008 he was again nominated for an Emmy for his work, Chewed Up. C. K., 2001 was co-author for Chris Rocks, Down to Earth, 2007 I Think I Love My Wife.

Stand-up

C. K. repeatedly occurs as a stand- up comedian on shows such as Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Lopez Tonight, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel Live!. August 2005 took C. K. in the half-hour HBO special One Night Stand part. Was published in 2006 C. Ks own one-hour HBO special Shameless. On 1 March 2008, Louis took up his stand-up special, Chewed Up, which aired on October 4, on SHOWTIME. For this he was again nominated for an Emmy in the category "Outstanding Writing in a Comedy or Variety Special ." On April 18, 2009 Louis recorded a stand-up special with the Title Hilarious that was released in 2010. This is the first stand-up contribution, which was accepted into Sundance.

C. K. 2010 described in an interview his return to stand-up as a one and a half years of work to process the divorce from his wife. Spectacle

In June 2006, C. K. created the sitcom Lucky Louie. This series premiered on HBO and videotaped before a live audience; it was HBO's first series in that format.   • C. K. appeared as voice actors on the cartoon series Home Movies and repeated in Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.
  • C. K. occurs together with his co- star from Lucky Louie, Jim Norton, frequently as a guest on the radio show Opie and Anthony on. He was also in 2007 along with other comedians of the Opie and Anthony's Traveling Virus Comedy Tour.
  • During an interview with the U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld during the Opie and Anthony radio show, Louis C. K. asked Rumsfeld whether he is actually a "Mexican baby -eating space lizard, who eats the poor" (ie a " space - lizard that Mexican babies and poor people eating " ) is. Rumsfeld refused an answer.
