Louise Bawden

Louise Bawden ( born August 7, 1981 in Melbourne) is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player.

Career

Bawden played from 1998 in the hall for the Australian national team. She participated in the 2000 Olympics part in their own country. The team of the host only won this game against the outsider Kenya and had to say goodbye after the group stage. Then the setter signed a contract with the Dutch first division AMVJ Amstelveen, for which she played three years. In 2002, the Australian women qualified with Bawden for the World Cup in Germany. However, in this tournament they have won only two sets and thus eliminated as a group after the first round of last. Two years later, Bawden, abruptly ended her athletic career. She graduated and then worked in advertising.

When she 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing visited, she decided to return to the sport. The following year she made a beach volleyball duo with Alice Rohkamper, which participated in some open tournaments and two Grand Slams without achieving top rankings. At the Grand Slam in Marseille Bawden first played with Becchara Palmer. A little later Bawden / Palmer came into the final of the Open tournament in Stare Jabłonki and ranked fifth among the Kristiansand Open. They also won the 2009 national championship. Bawden was recognized by the FIVB as "Rookie of the Year." 2010 and 2011 scored the Matildas more top ten results in the international tournament series. At the World Championships 2011 in Rome, she came into the knockout stages without dropping a set as group winners. After a victory in the first round against a Chinese duo they lost in the second round in three sets to Czech women Klapalová / Háječková and occupied the ninth place. In the same year Bawden / Palmer arrived at the continental championship of the AVC fifth. In 2012 she achieved a fifth place in Sanya and three ninth places. After Vorrundenaus at the Olympic Games in London, Bawden and Palmer parted. Since 2013 Bawden plays together with Taliqua Clancy. At the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Bawden / Clancy reached the main round, where they did against the Spaniards Liliana / Baquerizo.
