Love Song (sometimes titled as Love Song ) is a song by British alternative rock band The Cure from the year 1989. Was extracted from her eighth album Disintegration on 21 August 1989 as the third single. The song was mainly in the United States a great success, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100; it was her only Top Ten hit. In the UK the single reached only a top 20 placement.
History
The title of the song is often termed in different ways; these vary between Love Song and Love Song ( on many items available from The Cure ). On the original cover illustration from 1989 with the song Love Song titled in album track list and the accompanying booklet but with Love Song. Robert Smith wrote the song originally as a love letter to his girlfriend Mary.
Charts
Even before its release as a single, Love Song was able to celebrate success and reached # 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, their most successful single in the United States; just as the title could celebrate successes in various rock charts. In the United Kingdom Lovesong only reached 18th place in Germany the song reached number 21 on the charts. In Austria and Switzerland did not make love song in the charts. Only in Poland Love Song 1989 was a number -one hit; It was three weeks at No. 1 of the Polish charts.

Lol Tolhurst founding member was not seen in the music video. During the production of the song he was still a member of The Cure. However, he was thrown shortly after the release of the album from the band.
