Łowkowice, Krapkowice County

Lobkowitz (Polish: Łowkowice ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Lobkowitz located in the municipality Small Strehlitz ( Strzeleczki ) in Krapkowicki powiat ( county Krappitz ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Neighboring towns of Lobkowitz are in the North West Small Strehlitz ( Strzeleczki ), in the north of the Mining oak wood ( Dobra ), to the east Komornik ( Komorniki ), in the south Kornica ( Körnitz ) and in the southwest Schreibersdorf ( Pisarzowice ).

History

The town was founded in the 13th century by German law and was first mentioned in 1218 as Lofcovici. 1534 was followed by a mention as Lowkowitz. 1561 saw the place in the possession of the family of Oppersdorf.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 475 voters voted to remain in Germany and 31 for Poland. Lobkowitz remained with the German Reich. On July 21, 1936, the place in Hunter Hausen OS was renamed. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Łowkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Krapkowicki. On 17 May 2006, the German Lobkowitz was in the village of Klein Strehlitz, plays, introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Lobkowitz.
