Zielina

Zellin (Polish: Zielina ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Zellin located in the municipality Small Strehlitz ( Strzeleczki ) in Krapkowicki powiat ( county Krappitz ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Zellin is located five kilometers southwest of the parish seat small Strehlitz, 11 kilometers west of the county town of Krapkowice ( Krappitz ) and 27 kilometers south of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

Neighboring towns of Zellin are in the west mosques ( Moszna ) and to the east Kujau ( Kujawy ).

History

The town was first mentioned in 1743 as Zellin. Initially, the hamlet Zellin belonged to the place Kujau. In the 18th century it was owned by the Count Schaffgotsch. Before 1945 Zellin was owned by Claus von Thiele Winckler.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 377 voters voted to remain in Germany and 139 for Poland. Zellin remained with the German Reich. On April 1, 1939, the municipalities Kujau and Zellin were merged to form the new municipality Zellin. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and the Silesian Voivodeship connected and November 16, 1946 in Zielina renamed .. 1950 was the place for Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Krapkowicki. On 17 May 2006 German was in the village of Klein Strehlitz, belongs to the Zellin is introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Zellin.
