Ľuboreč

Ľuboreč ( until 1927 slovak " Luboreč "; Hungarian Nagylibercse ) is a municipality in the south of Slovakia with 335 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Lučenec, kraj a circle of Banskobystrický.

Geography

The community is located at the transition from the valley of Juhoslovenská kotlina in the mountains Ostrôžky the creek Ľuboreč. The nearly 31.7 km ² municipal area covers most of the creek valley and includes the small reservoir Ľuboreč downstream of the site. The center is located at an altitude of 252 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Lučenec and 22 kilometers away from Velky Krtíš.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1291 as Lyberchen writing. 1828 are listed 69 houses and 585 inhabitants.

Attractions

  • Protestant church built in the Gothic style, originally in the 14th century and rebuilt in the 17th century. Worth seeing are mainly medieval frescoes that arose against 1385.
