Ľubotín

Ľubotín ( until 1927 slovak " Lubotiňa " or " Lubotýn "; Hungarian Lubotény - to 1907 Lubotin ) is a municipality in the north-eastern Slovakia with 1372 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2011), the Region of Stara Okres Ľubovňa, part of Prešov and is counted to the traditional landscape Saris.

Geography

The community is located at the transition from westerly Bergland Ľubovnianska highlands of the southern Levočské mountains and the eastern Čergov. The place itself is spread in the valley of the brook Ľubotínka, which flows past the village in the Poprad. The center is located at an altitude of 492 m nm and is 20 kilometers from Stara Ľubovňa 37 kilometers from Bardejov and 44 km from Prešov away.

Administratively divided the community into the church and parts Ľubotín Podpílie (1969 amalgamated, outsourced by the community Plaveč ).

History

The town was first mentioned in 1330 as Lubotin writing, the Bach was writing known at that time ( eg 1287 Lubicyn ). The village developed on the site of an older settlement and belonged to the dominion of the castle Kamenica. In a tax register of 1427, a tax of 17 Porta is due. 1600, the village had 12 occupied houses, a mill, a school, a church and a parish.

1828 are listed 75 houses and 565 inhabitants. In addition to agriculture and livestock, there was a 19th century salt warehouse and a dock for rafts, after 1918 there were saws and forging.
