Lucy Wangui Kabuu

Lucy Wangui Kabuu ( born March 24, 1984 in Ichamara, Mukurweini District, Central Province ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, she finished ninth in the 10,000 m.

In 2005 she was at the World Cross Country Championships in Saint- Galmier Fifth on the short distance, and in 2006 she won at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne gold in the 10,000 m and silver in the 5000m. In 2008 she arrived at the Olympic Games in Beijing in the 10,000 m at the seventh place.

After a maternity leave, she returned back to the 2011 competition scene, winning the Great North Run and the Delhi Half Marathon. In 2012 she was second in the Dubai Marathon and fifth London Marathon. At the RAK Half Marathon 2013 she managed the victory at a time of 1:06:09 hours, the second fastest time ever run by a woman.

Lucy Wangui Kabuu is 1.54 kg and weighs 40 kg. She moved at age 17 to Japan, where she graduated from the Amori Yada High School and then started for the team by the vehicle manufacturer Suzuki to 2008.
