Luguelín Santos

Luguelín Santos (born 12 November 1993) is a Dominican athlete who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

Santos scored numerous successes in 2010 in the youth and junior level. Among other things, he was over 400 m at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton sixth and won at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. First medals in the adult area, he won at the Pan American Games 2011 in Guadalajara, where he finished second in both the 400 -meter run as well as the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

Santos could not qualify for the final at the IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships 2012 in Istanbul. The outdoor season was uneven successful for him. In the FBK Games in Hengelo in May of the same year Santos increased its best performance and the Dominican record in the 400 - meter dash at 44.45 seconds. He moved in the meantime up to second place in the annual global leaderboard behind the American LaShawn Merritt. At the Track World Junior Championships in Barcelona Santos won the gold medal.

His most significant success until then celebrated with Santos winning the silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
