Luhmühlen Horse Trials

The CCI Luhmühlen is an international tournament event in Luhmühlen. It counts as CCI 4 * to the most important tournaments in eventing.

The tournament

Every year, in mid-June, an international eventing horse show takes place in Luhmühlen. The main test of this tournament is advertised as CCI **** and is therefore next to the tournament in Pau ( France ) is the only tournament on the European mainland, which will be played in this highest category for versatility tournaments.

The prize money at the four-star competition is € 100,000. From the results of the five CCI **** events on the northern hemisphere (Kentucky, Badminton, Luhmühlen, Burghley and Pau) there is in addition, since 2008, a body set up by the FEI Appreciation (HSBC FEI Classics ™ ); the five top-ranked of these rankings will receive prize money of 333,000 U.S. $.

History

On 26-27. May 1923 was carried out the first club tournament at the club -discharging, the horse breeding and equestrian club Luhmühlen. 1931 400 seats comprehensive grandstand was built. This was in 1992, in turn replaced by a new, modern grandstand.

Finally, after the Second World War was followed by the rise Luhmühlens as a venue. In 2011, the European Championships of Eventing were held in Luhmühlen. This took place for the fifth time after 1975, 1979, 1987 and 1999 European Championships in Luhmühlen. In total there was ridden to European titles in the individual and team rating since 1953 for the thirtieth time.
